Terms of Use

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of blurvideo at blurvid.com (the “Service”), operated by us (“blurvideo”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

blurvideo is a set of free, browser-based tools for editing video, audio and images, including blurring faces, merging clips, trimming, extracting audio or frames, resizing images, converting video to GIF, and blurring number plates. Today every one of them processes your files locally in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your media is (and is not) handled.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and you must comply with the laws of the jurisdiction you use it from. If you are under the age required to do so in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Your content

You retain all rights to any video, audio, or image you open in the Service. Because processing happens on your device, we do not receive, store, or acquire any licence to your content, so there is nothing for us to claim rights over.

You are solely responsible for the content you process and for having the right to use it. You agree not to use the Service to process content that you do not have the legal right to use, or in a way that infringes the rights, including privacy rights, of others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to violate any applicable law.
  • Use the Service to create or distribute content that harasses, defames, or violates the privacy of any person.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or the infrastructure it runs on, including by scraping, automated abuse, or bypassing rate or usage limits.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Ownership

The Service, including its software, design and content, is our property. It is not open source, and nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership of it or any licence beyond the right to use it as offered. The Service is built using third-party open-source components, which remain under their own licences; those licences cover those components, not the Service as a whole.

Third-party models

Some features rely on third-party, open-source machine learning models downloaded to your browser at runtime. These are provided under their own respective licenses, and are used here solely to run the feature you invoked.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output (such as a blurred face or a detected plate) will be complete or accurate. Always review results before relying on them, particularly where privacy or legal compliance is the reason you are using the tool.

Support payments

The Support page links to the developer’s Buy Me a Coffee page. Support payments are voluntary and made there, not on blurvideo. They are not a purchase: you receive no goods, services or extra features in return, and using the Service never requires one. They are not a charitable donation and are not tax-deductible. Buy Me a Coffee’s terms apply to the payment itself, and your bank may add its own charges, for example for currency conversion. If something went wrong with a payment, such as a duplicate or a wrong amount, email us within 7 days and we will look at a refund.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the Service. The Service is free, and our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use it (zero) or a nominal sum.

Changes and availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time, without liability to you. Features that run on a server rather than on your device, or that are offered on a paid basis, may be introduced later; where that happens the feature will say so and these terms will be updated to cover it. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms, and we will update the “Last updated” date above when that happens.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
