Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

blurvideo (“blurvideo”, “we”, “us”) provides browser-based video and image tools at blurvid.com. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use them. The short version: your video, audio and images are processed entirely on your own device and are not uploaded to us.

Your media never leaves your device

Every tool on this site (blurring faces, merging clips, trimming, extracting audio or frames, resizing images, converting to GIF, blurring number plates) runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly and on-device machine learning models. When you open a file, it is read directly from your device into the page’s own memory. We do not receive it, store it, or have any way to see it.

There are no upload endpoints for video, audio, or image content in any of the tools described above. That is a structural fact about how they are built rather than a setting: changing it would mean changing how the tools work, and this page would say so before it happened.

What we do store

Projects, saved styles, presets and similar settings are kept using your browser’s own local storage (IndexedDB and localStorage), on your device only. We have no access to this data, it is not transmitted to any server, and clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing here requires an account today, and we do not offer one. If optional accounts are added later, this page will describe what they involve before they become available.

Machine learning models

Face detection and similar features are powered by small, open-source model files (ONNX weights). On first use, your browser downloads the model it needs from our server so it can run locally afterwards. That download is a static file request, like loading an image or a script, and it does not include or transmit any part of your video, audio, or images.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, our web server keeps standard access logs for the pages, scripts, and model files it serves. This can include your IP address, browser and OS information, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs exist only to operate the service reliably and to detect abuse, are not linked to any account (since there are none), and are not used for advertising or shared with data brokers.

Requests to the site pass through Cloudflare, which runs our domain, delivers the site’s files from a server near you and protects it from abuse. To do that, Cloudflare processes the same request information, under Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Your media is never part of those requests.

Analytics and cookies

We do not run analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers, and we do not set cookies to identify or profile visitors. To see how much the site is used, we read the traffic totals Cloudflare already keeps for the requests it delivers: numbers such as visits, pages and countries. They are counted from the requests themselves, not from a script or a cookie, and they do not identify you.

If we ever add analytics beyond that, this page will name what we use and what it collects before it goes live, and where your region requires consent for it, you will be asked first.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising on this site.

Third parties

The site runs on servers we rent from Amazon Web Services and is delivered through Cloudflare, which also forwards email sent to our addresses. Neither receives your media: it never leaves your device. Beyond the request information described above, no part of your activity is passed to a third-party service. We may later offer optional features that do their work on a server rather than on your device. Anything of that kind will be something you choose to use rather than something that happens quietly, it will say so before you use it, and this page will describe it first.

Support payments

The Support page links to the developer’s Buy Me a Coffee page, where payments are made. blurvideo itself does not collect or store any payment details. What you share there is handled under Buy Me a Coffee’s Privacy Policy, and their page sets its own cookies. Buy Me a Coffee shares your name, email address and any message you leave with the developer, who uses them only to thank you and reply to you, and never adds you to a mailing list.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Since the tools require no account and no personal information to use, there is nothing for us to collect in the ordinary course of using them.

Your rights

Because we do not currently collect personal data beyond the request logs described above, there is generally no personal data of yours for us to access, export, or delete on request. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. We will not weaken these protections retroactively for data already described as staying on your device, because that data was never ours to begin with.
